Onlar, adeta ilahi bir bilgi silsilesinin son halkası olarak, içinde doğup büyüdükleri topluma nefes ve dirilik bağışlarlar. Türk dünyasının her köşesinde temsilciler yetiştiren bu gelenek, hiçbir otoritenin desteğine muhtaç olmadan her türlü siyasi ve ekonomik sının anlamsızlaştıracak kadar kudretlidir. Tüm zamanlar boyunca varlığını ve önemini muhafaza eden aşıklık geleneği, ait olduğu milletin seciyesini ve dünya görüşünü bütün samimiyetiyle yaşatır ve gelecek nesillere aktarır. Bu özelliğiyle milli benliğin adeta koruma kalkanıdır. Aşıklar, hangi zaman ve zeminde olursa olsun, hangi ekonomik ve siyasi şartlar altında bulunursa bulunsun, mensubu oldukları geleneğin kültürel kodları uyarınca toplumu ayakta tutan erdemleri dillendirirler. Kadim ve zengin kültürüyle Anadolu aşıklık geleneğine önemli isimler hediye eden Sivas şehri, 20. yüzyılda da adı kendisiyle anılacak bir büyük aşığı, Aşık Veysel'i yetiştirmiştir. Geleneğin tüm karakteristik özelliklerini kuşanan Aşık Veysel; ama.lığı, trajik hayat öyküsü ve Cumhuriyet kültürünün inşasında oynadığı rolle geleneğin, yaşadığı çağdaki en bilinen ve beğenilen ismi olmayı başarmış bir sanatçıdır. Elinizdeki eser, Sivas Cumhuriyet Üniversitesi ve MOTİF Vakfı iş birliğiyle hazırlanmış ve kutlu bir tesadüf eseri olarak Cumhuriyet'in 100. yılı ile Aşık Veysel'in 50. vefat yıldönümü olan 2023 yılında yayınlanarak Türkiye Cumhuriyeti'ne ve Aşık Veysel'e ithaf edilmiştir. Türk aşıklık geleneğini ve Aşık Veysel'i bir arada değerlendirmeyi amaçlayan bu eser, geleneği son özgün isimlerinden biri ile birlikte okuma imkanı sağlamaktadır. Türk Aşıklık
